The mission of the Lydia Wilson Foundation (CIC) organisation in the United Kingdom is to touch the vulnerable members of the society here in Scotland, especially in Aberdeen, UK. Particular focus is on the aged, widow(er)s, refuges and orphans.
We operate predominantly in Scotland in the United Kingdom and Nigeria, though we reach out to other countries where there is great need.
Since inception, we have achieved the following in the UK:
- Provide support to the local food bank in Westhill, Aberdeen.
- Provided packaged groceries for struggling widows within the communities.
Provided packaged groceries for struggling widows within the communities - During the COVID 19 pandemic, we provided food baskets to families struggling including sanitary gels, wipes and face masks.
- At Easter and Christmas time, we partner with Westhill community church to create festive hampers and distribute to those who needed them locally.
Easter eggs delivered to Westhill community for Easter - In our local community, our support for food and basic amenities continued. We also made donations to relief materials for the people in Ukraine by partnering with parents of Repton
Donations to Ukraine appeal via the Derby parents association - We support the asylum hotel set up in Aberdeen Westhill to provide relief materials for care packages distributed to the asylum seekers.
- As part of our mental health programme, we collect used and unwanted football kits from our partners; Westdyke FC and Mickleover FC as donations, and we pay for shipments to Nigeria to support vulnerable children. These are used by kids in the slums to hold football tournaments which we sponsor annually.
